Adventures in Bunting!

I don't think there is any easier way to spruce up a party, especially and outdoor one, than with a bit of bunting! Yes, bunting!

So simple to make too. I took an average A4 sheet, folded in 4, than glued both sides onto a piece of string.

Bunting gives a real old school vintage vibe, retro yet chic.

I made these, with the help of my friend Shonagh, using lots of different colour paper, and old piece of wrapping paper.

Nothing says this house is ready to party like bunting!

Tomorrow I'll post the reason why Ive been making lots of bunting lately.

Stay tuned.

The Lid is opening soon...

So a few weeks back my amazingly talented friend, Ciara K, said she was working on an arts project and asked if I wanted to get involved. I said yes before she had finished asking the question. I knew if Ciara was involved, that the end result would be amazing.

The project is an online arts magazine, feature up and coming Irish Artists (all forms and medias). It will also have a consistent events guide (has anyone seen the Culture Fox website, its god awful).

Down the line, we are hoping to put the best of our content into print form, whether that is a book or a magazine, its to be decided.

What we do know is that we need content. So here is an open call for your, YES YOUR, work. Your ideas, your concepts, your views, your thoughts.

Please send on your work to submissions@thelid.ie and come Like us on Facebook

Just a quick thank you

So before Christmas I was felling a little arts and crafty, so I went to the art shop and got a load of paper with great intensions of making all my friends hand made Christmas cards.

Well I put the paper in a drawer and forgot about it until December 26th, so my Christmas Cards became Thank You cards, and like the proper fool that I am, I gave away all the nice ones and photographed nothing. Except these ones, which I must say I do like.
