John's at it again!

John Lewis continue to do what they do best, and that is create memorial and special adverts. Thye tell a story, and while all the key points are hit upon, the fashion, gadgets, by the end of the 90 second spot, you know these 2 characters...

And again the soundtrack is great, Paloma Faith covering INXS' Never Tear Us Apart.

Lecome, Lego

This is probably the best thing you will see all day! From Creative Review's blog:

"German ad agency Jung von Matt has created this charming print campaign to advertise Lego. The ads feature minimalist interpretations of some of our best-loved cartoon characters, all created with blocks of Lego: can you guess who's who?"

Spice Up Your Bomb

Sean O'Pry lands another campaign, shot by Inez & Vinoodh for Viktor & Rolf's latest scent "Spicebomb". I am hoping a TV advert will follow, with Sean dancing along to Spice Up Your Life...

Also Viktor & Rolf's other perfume, Flowerbomb, is fucking dear. €65 in Brown Thomas for the small gift set... bananas!

Little Brother

They say in advertising that you need to THINK BIG, but try telling that to the ad men (and women) at Channel 4, they've never been ones to follow the crowd...

Their latest reality series, Seven Dwarves, follows the lives of seven little people, during the Christmas panto season, a veritable Little Brother if you will.

So to prove that bigger is not always better, pint sized billboards have been erected around London to advertise the show. It may be small, but you can't deny its not effective. Which I a nice way to sum up a show about little people.

Seven Dwarves starts tonight, 16th of August, at 9PM on Channel 4.

No Passport Needed...

I Love these adverts for Last Minute, they look so 1950's when going on a holidays was glamourous and exciting, and not poisons by the thoughts of airport queues, seurity checks and hidden charges... I think holidaying at home may be something to look into this Summer...

Still, they look pretty great!

Straight Up

Forget something Love?

I love this new ad for GHD adgebcy RKCR/Y&R. It's a edgy take on Cinderella, and is directed by the one and only Floria Sigismondi (The Runways, Christina's Fighter & Hurt, Marilyn's Beautiful People).

The music is pretty awesome too, the track Lucky You by LA-based band Le Rev, who have signed to advertising agency RKCR/Y&R's brand new record label, Two Black Cats. So this advert also doubles as a music video, which is pretty cool!

Mark & friends....

So Mark Ronson had a new album out. To be perfectly honest I'm a lot more interested in his sisters than his music, but havin said that, his new song about Bicycles in pretty catchy, AND most importantly the advert for the album is kinda amazing.

Its very well done, and I LOVE a bitta stop-motion. The dolls look great too, especially Boy George. The making of (below) is pretty interesting too...

Gucci's Guilt

Gucci is going all out with its Guilty campaign, enlisting Even Rachel Wood & Chris Evans for the print campaign, as well as roping Sin City's Frank Miller to direct a tv spot for the new perfume, which will be premiering September 12th during the MTV VMAs

Gucci has previously hired David Lynch and Chris Cunningham to direct for them, so I hope Miller can up his game from his usual Black & White style, also the promo looks like a bad Sin City attepmt. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong...

B J O B S

I never thought about it before but advertising could be a really interesting career path... Although probably really stressful too. Anyways I love this video for BooneOakley, I bet they'd be fun to work for.

Oh Baby, Baby...

Would you really wear these tshirts? I'd be terrified I'd be chased down the street by some pedophile! Or a priest. Oh well Evian, if you think it's a good idea...

Get Yourself on the TV with Google Ads

This is pretty crazy, I don't know if it works in Ireland cause I havn't tried it out yet, but it is giving people a whole new opertunity to advertise their services. All from their own laptop. The future is great isn't it?

Reading is fun!

I love the idea behind this, but when ever I read a book after seeing the film I can never help but imagine the actor in your head. I read Brett Easton Ellis's Rules of Attraction after seeing the film all I could think of was just Dawson doing bad things.

This is a really original idea. Roland Semprie is a Canadian personal trainer and to promote his services this T-shirt was designed by GJP Advertising + Design, Toronto, Canada.
