Are you on Instagram?

I've come to adore the social media website as of late, mostly for the fact that it is such a global platform.They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, and with Instagram a picture can be worth a 1000 words in any language.

I am following people from all over the globe, but without the language barrier that happens with Twitter or Facebook. All pictures tell a story, and with Instagram its easier then ever before to share them with the world.

Think Before You Tweet...

Oh Kenneth... Come on now, what were you thinking? Yesterday Mr. KC decided to tweet a really dumb comment about his Cairo store, its not that it was that terrible, but hes a multi millionaire fashion designer for Christs sake, thats as far removed from the real world as you can get, so it just came across as such an arrogant message...



Well an hour afterwards he apologies, then deleted the original message. But as we all know, once you put something online, it is there forever.

And some very clever San Fran artist decided to remind Kenny of this, by printing the tweet on the shop front of his San Francisco store.

I know Kenneth Cole has donated a million dollars to charity in the past, and I presume his heart was in the right place, but when millions are fighting for their right to a better life, its not the time to promote the fact that your having a sale.

I've got friends in cyber places

So last...God I can't even remember, I'm going to say february but I don't know... we'll say it was February. Ok so in February I was a ball of stress bags due to impending dissertation, and with no primary research done I came up with the genius idea of doing what I do best. Sitting on the couch, on my laptop, networking. Not just regular networking, social networking!

I figured since the topic of my dissertation was the influence of the youth culture magazine (i-D and The Face) who better to ask then some influencial people via micro blogging site Twitter. And some VERY influential people replied to me.

Dita Von Teese, Kelly Osbourne, Milla Jovovich, Jeremy Scott, Max Ortega, Bryan Boy and Drag queen superstar DJ Jodie Harsh (FYI trying to give some information on who and what Jodie Harsh is in your college dissertation is pretty hard)

Long story short my thank yous and acknowledgements read like the fucking VIP list. and I think my lecturer was somewhat impressed at my easy yet super effective celebrity questionnaire.

So Lady Gaga posted on her twitter the above art piece inspired by the Telephone video. How amazing would it be to have Gaga not only see, but appreciate and share your work with all her fans? Im sure the artist, Yamino, must be delighted.

M.I.A vs RIHANNA

So if you haven't seen it by now Rihanna's Rude Boy video (above) is very very similar to M.I.A's 2007 video for Boyz. So everyones has being calling Rihanna's version a rip-off and now Maya has got in on the action and retweeted something one of her fans said:

On a sidenote M.I.A linked another tweet of hers to the website for her record label N.E.E.T Recordings although if you are anyway hungover then don't click on the link. It's very M.I.A i.e Mental!
