I've got friends in cyber places

So last...God I can't even remember, I'm going to say february but I don't know... we'll say it was February. Ok so in February I was a ball of stress bags due to impending dissertation, and with no primary research done I came up with the genius idea of doing what I do best. Sitting on the couch, on my laptop, networking. Not just regular networking, social networking!

I figured since the topic of my dissertation was the influence of the youth culture magazine (i-D and The Face) who better to ask then some influencial people via micro blogging site Twitter. And some VERY influential people replied to me.

Dita Von Teese, Kelly Osbourne, Milla Jovovich, Jeremy Scott, Max Ortega, Bryan Boy and Drag queen superstar DJ Jodie Harsh (FYI trying to give some information on who and what Jodie Harsh is in your college dissertation is pretty hard)

Long story short my thank yous and acknowledgements read like the fucking VIP list. and I think my lecturer was somewhat impressed at my easy yet super effective celebrity questionnaire.

Chelsea College London, Graduate's Show

So I still have no internet (or camera for that matter, all these images have been lovingly robbed from Katy Halpin) but during the week I caught the Chelsea's Graduate's Show before it ended and the work on the display was really amazing...

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I'm actually quite impressed by how much I've been posting lately, my end of year exhibition is in 2 weeks time and our submission piece is due Friday, so basically I've been distracting myself online the past few weeks. Anyways for the exhibition, I, be difficult and stupid, decided to do a book AND this chandelier type piece that will hang from the ceiling and display my work. It all sounds good in my head. It's just putting it all together that is the problem.

Here is a rough draft of the first few spreads, for some reason I am doing 12 spreads, although I may have to get my Anna on and edit out some of the crap!

I'll post more as I'm going along.

Op to it!

So I'm doing this project for Dublin Culture Night, which takes place September 24th. Anyways I was originally going to do something with mad make-up and feathers and beads, something really tribal and ethnic looking. So when I showed my design lecturer my mood boards he said "gay parade". I know! Cheek. So I looked at it again and now I'm thinking of doing something kinda Op Art inspired. I've been researching it and now I'm so dizzy. I'll let ye know how the final piece looks.

A few snaps

Took these all by myself for a college project, I had optimism in mind and wanted to do something with bright colours and dilapidation. I dont know if i'll use them yet, This project is a real pain in the hole...

Its a man. In a Tshirt.

So last November I had the first draft of my dissertation due in and instead of just buckling down for a few hours and getting it done, I found a pack of Post-Its and rewallpapered the sitting room!

So this Monday my portfolio is due in college, and instead of talking pictures and retouching some old projects I did this... TA-DAH!

Its a little man wearing a Tshirt, made out of Tshirt shaped Post-its. As for my portfolio... well its a work in progress (Translation, Im Fucked!) But as they say tomorrow is another day.

I also noticed that there is a big arse on the telly! I was watching Sex and the City, talk about perfect timing right.
