New Living Art II

At the weekend I was lucky enough to see The Irish Museum of Contemporary Art's New Living Art Exhibition held at Moxie Studios (Lad's Lane, off Baggot St.) The Show run until the 30th of October, and opens daily, 12-5pm.

My amazingly talented friend, Ciara Killalea, had two fabulous prints in the exhibition. They are part of her Inhabiting Space series. Ciara is one of those fabulous photographers that is able to capture a story, every time she clicks her camera, a true talent. And not to be bias, but she had the best work of the exhibition...

I highly recommend the exhibition, it has a rich and diverse collection of instillations, photography, moving imagery and some taxidermy. What more could you want from an exhibition?

X-Men. No Words. Just Stars.

I saw X-Men: First Class last night...

I have no intentions of writing a big long review about the film, all I'll say is JUST GO AN SEE IT!

I give it a million stars. out of five.

500 Days of Cancer.

How good does this film look? A funny film about Cancer, can it be done? It does look very promising. Like 500 days of Summer. With added Cancer.

More Arms than an Ard Fheis!

Has anyone seen Thor yet? I caught an early preview of it last week and I very much enjoyed it. It was action packed, a few funny moments, and an entertaining story.

But come on, the main reason we went, or at least the reason I went, was for some Chris Hemsworth hotness. And hot damn is he a fine man. And coming later this summer is Captain america, with more good stuff in the form of Chris Evans.

Anyways I recommend Thor, its a fun ride. Oh except for Natalie Portman, she seemed so not bothered to be in that film at all, all I can assume is that she was mentally drained from Black Swan, when it was time to film this comic book film I bet she was like ugh whatever I need a Vay Kay.

Ice, Ice, Lady.

I have always been a huge fan of the X-Men series, from the animated cartoon on a Saturday morning to the film trilogy (Obviously this doesn't include X3, God Brett Rattner really is a terrible director) So anyways you can imagine my excitement when I found out the the series would continue, and even better as prequel. And even better again it is set in the 60's. AND Michael Fassbender is in it. AND Matthew Vaughan (Kiss-Ass) is in the director's chair. A man who knows what he's doing.

And don't let the quality of the above picture concern you, it was confirmed that this image was leaked and far from finished according to MTV news. But what are official are the promo pictures released today, where we get a first look at the actors in there character.

I am very much loving January Jones as Emma Frost, seeing as the film is set in the sixties, I can only hope for a bitta Nancy Sinatra "These boots" action.

X-Men: First Class opens June 3rd, 2011.

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?

The trailer of Red Riding Hood has me pretty intrigued, I do Love a dark twisted fasntasy story, but it is also directed by Catherine Hardwicke, director of the first Twilight film. Which was terrible. So that has me slightly worried, but Amanda Seyfried is pretty talented so hopefully it will be a fresh take on a classic.

X-Men goes back to School...

Shooting has begun on Matthew Vaughen's X-Men: First Class. The movie is set in the 60's and will focus on the creation of the X-Men.

So far I'm loving what I'm seeing, the styling is great, very Mad Men goes to Oxford. I have such high hopes for this movie, I adored the first 2 X-Men films when I was younger (we don't speak of the 3rd one) so hopefully the incredibly talented Matthew Vaughen (Kick-Ass, Layer Cake) will be able to get this series back on track...

Inception

Im loving the posters for Christopher Nolan's new thriller (and judging from these posters it's going to be a total mindfuck) Inception. The film stars Nolan's favourites s Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe and Michael Caine, aswell as the wonderful Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page and some guy named Leonardo DiCaprio. Great cast huh?

They just fucked with the wrong Mexican!

Aw man I can't wait for this film... Robert Rodriguez's new film Machete, was originally just a faux trailer in his and Tarantino's Grindhouse, but now it is making its way to the big screen, and there's some pretty big names in the film too. Even The Lohan, as some sort of nun whore person. Either way Im excited.
