Stop Motion for Me!

The Audience by animator Rogier Wieland, is an amazing short film using stop motion video, and A LOT of cut out of one man, the Audience.

Pop Up!

This week's Le Cool cover was created by graphic designers Catherine Robertson and Louise Gaffney. The finished result is great, but what was more interesting was the Making of video, and to see how the two girls worked, and their thought process. Fascinating stuff.

The Godfather

Seriously? Who wouldn't cast him?

The video below is a very rare screen test of the Marlon Brando in Rebel Without A Cause.

Mine Kafon | Callum Cooper from Focus Forward Films on Vimeo.

This short film directed by Callum Cooper tells the story of Mine Kafon – a wind-driven, low cost landmine destroyer developed by Afghan designer Massoud Hassani.
The device, consisting of rubber pads on the end of a radiating array of bamboo rods, costs $40 to manufacture and can sustain up to four landmine blasts. As opposed to current ‘hi-tech’ mine-sweeping which can cost up to $1000 per explosion.

Down with the Big Six!

I love this video, its sad, but it has a great and important message!

It's time to move on. Our country, and all of us, need to move from a fossil fuel past to a renewable energy future.

The mood in Britain has turned very much against the Big Six energy companies. And it's not hard to see why. People are fed up with the unethical pricing, complex tariffs, awful customer service and the dire lack of investment in new sources of green energy.

It's become quite unbearable, self evidently. Even the government are calling on people to leave the Big Six.

People:Power can bring change to the energy sector -- when people join Ecotricity they vote with their energy bills - and the more that do so the better. Together we can harness the energy bills of Britain and direct them to a proper outcome - the creation of a Green, energy independent Britain -- a Green Britain.

No Joy Here

No Joy from Mike Petty on Vimeo.

The abandoned Joyland Amusement park in Wichita, Kansas. Great, sad images huh? Though I imagine it would be an amazing place to go photograph. Or have a rave there. Your choice.

"Joyland Amusement Park opened in Wichita, Kansas, United States on June 12, 1949, and was in continuous operation until 2004. The park was founded by Lester Ottaway. In the late 1960s the park was sols to Stanley and Margaret Nelson. The park was showing its age with many attractions requiring extensive repairs when the Nelsons shut it down in mid 2004. "
