SYD2030 is here!

I have so much admiration for the markers of SYD2030! In a time where everyone seems to be broke, and no one is doing anything but complaining, nothing makes me happier than to see a group of young people trying to get a something off the group.

SYD2030 is a brand new web series, described as Gossip Girl down under, which focus' on Cameron Hunter, and how his world is turned upside down by the return of the mysterious she!

Considering the budget limitations, this first episode is amazingly promising. The cast a young and spirited, and while not professionals, they are convincing as fun loving teens. The music and score is great throughout, and the over all visuals, from the wardrobe to cinematography is most impressive.

Here on WHAM we'll be posting the next episode as soon as its live, so keep it here for everything SYD2030!

No Melancholia allowed in Ennis...

I was pretty upset that I didn't get a chance to see Melancholia in the cinema, unsurprisingly, it didn't make it to Ennis, I'll just wait for the DVD. In the meantime the movie posters will keep me visually satisfied.

The Iron Lady

The new one sheet for Meryl Streep's new film, The Iron Lady, (other know as, hello, I'm here for my Oscar please?) looks fantastic. Meryl is such a powerhouse, it really is the dream casting.

What Goes around...

Comes around... No, I'm not talking karma, but fashion!

Oh yes, On Thursday my friends Pa, Stephen, Jenny and I hit up every Second Hand/ Charity Shop in Ennis and I found quite a lot of treasure...

This T-shirt was so silly, but buying a Paris Hilton T-shirt to wear ironically was one hipster step too far for me...

If I had a working VCR player, this Spice Girls tape would have been mine, I know I had a Spice Girls tape when I was younger, with UNAUTHORISED written across its cover too, but I'm unsure if it was the same... And yes, I was a fabulous child, incase you were wondering!

So here was I ended up with after our day of rummageing, all this for ten Euro...

The denim Ralph Lauren shirt was six euro, Bring It On set me back another two euro, and the two books, A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian & We Need to Talk About Kevin, were a euro each...

And thats why I love second hand, charity, vintage shops, call them what you will, if you are willing to get over the fact that someone else owned them, there is plenty of Treasure to be found, and all for a bargain too...

Recommended Ennis Second Hand: The Somalia Shop, Parnell St CarPark. Mrs Quinns, O'Connell St, and Enable Ireland, Parnell St.

Captain America

Another Day, another brilliant design by the one and only Olly Moss...

This time he has come up with a brilliant concept for the upcoming action film, Captain America. Using the idea of World War Two propaganda posters, the really gives the film a heavy feel.

A think its absolutely amazing...

The Batman!

How amazing is the new Batman poster? Once combined with the Batman Begins poster, and The Dark Knight poster, the trilogy is combined. Its a really clever concept, a nice way to round off the trilogy.

HAI, My name's Michelle Williams!

AND IM FUCKING FABULOUS!

Michelle Williams looking stunning in a red Erdem lace dress, at the premiere of her new movie, Blue Valentine, also starring Ryan Gosling. Seriously though I'm Loving the total look.

And the hair is gorgeous too, having recently styled it for latest project, My Week with Marilyn, and if you couldn't guess, she'll be playing Miss Marilyn Monroe.

I really can't wait for this film, Marilyn Monroe is such a fascinating person, so it'll be great to see what Michelle can bring to the role.

Spot of Tea and a Premiere Dahling?

Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley attend the "Never Let Me Go"
premiere during the 54th BFI London Film Festival in London.

What can I say? If there was ever a prime example of what an English Rose looks like, then Carey and Keira would certainly be it...

As much as I Love a girl in Chanel Couture, I have to give best dressed to Carey. I Love that she took a risk with the bold print Vionnet dress, something which we definitely don't see enough of on the Red Carpet.

Earlier in the both ladies attended their film's Press Call, a more casual and relaxed event. Carey Mulligan wore Proenza Schouler, while Keira Knightley kept it fun and cute in Rodarte.

I'm loving that colour on Carey, its a great early Autumn dress. And Kiera in Rodarte is to die... I hope these two girls promote the hell outta this film, cause they both bring it when it comes to fashion!

Ugly Duckling...

No, Natalie Portman is getting ready for another Star Wars sequel, but Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, a psychological thriller set in the world of ballet. With a bit of Meg Griffin and lesbianism throw in too for good measure.

The film's swan costumes were created by the Rodarte Sisters, and from the looks of things they definitely keep in line with the sinister tones of the movie.

Black Swan will have limited release on December 1st.

Space Cadet

So since this is our 666th post on WHAM, I thought something a little freaky (yet wonderful) was in order. AANTENI is 8 minutes and 40 seconds a visual perfection and gorgeous clothes, all provided by those talented Mulvey Sisters.

Guinevere van Seenus stars in Aanteni, a high-fashion techno-thriller from CFDA award-winning design sisters Rodarte, shot by their friend and frequent collaborator, the photographer and video artist Todd Cole. Set in the deserted grounds of Paypal founder Elon Musks Space X jet lab in Hawthorne, California, the film was inspired by the pioneering spirit of the space race, which, according to Rodartes Kate and Laura Mulleavy, has defined generations of artists in their desire to use new mediums and question the established rules they were taught to follow. This cinematic collision between rocket science and visual daring is an apt match for Rodartes spring 2010 collection—a symphony of flesh-colored crochet knits, fluorescent fibres, leather bandages and distressed plaid. Costumed in a series of these exquisite creations, Van Seenus blurrily emerges from a shimmering seascape before running through the starkly alluring spaces of the Space X facility—a former Boeing airline hanger that has been transformed into what the Mulleavys call a world defined by color, texture and material. Van Seenus hallucinatory journey, punctuated by glimpses of mysterious experiments and sudden rocket blasts, is chillingly soundtracked by LA noise-merchants No Age. We advise you to strap in and don a helmet for the spectacular finale—a truly stratospheric experience that tak takes Rodartes unique vision beyond the final frontier.

Precious...

I can not wait to see this film! when and where is another story? hopefully it'll come to the IFI... Anyways check out the trailer below it looks amazing, especially Mo'nique (Remember The Parkers?) who is apparently the front runner already for next year's best supporting actress Oscar. Mariah Carey has done a total 180 too, even donning a fake moustache, all to be taken seriously...

The two posters for the film too are just stunning and really give an idea of what to expect. The humble big brush strokes in the 1sheet below give a great impression of Precious's personality; shy, introverted, depressed?

While the poster below resembles an anatomy guide on how to butcher a pig! Precious has been clawed apart and just mauled... I haven't even seen the film and im already emotional...
