2nd Hand Happiness!

If you've read this blog before, you'll know by now that my favourite past time is rummaging through all my local 2nd hand shops, I see nothing wrong with owning someone else's belongs, especially if you can get them for a fraction of the price. Like The Works of Chris Cunningham, which I picked up for €3, that would be 1/11 of what was originally paid for it. Same with the Flight of the Conchords. And 3 really interesting looking frames, too my total to ten euro. Not bad, if I do say so myself. Now all I need to do is find some great images to put in the frames, and Im all set.

D(IY)arren

So I have a habit of collecting pictures and framing them, (example) but some of my favourite prints are just too big to frame, not to mention expensive. So I got a few different sized Bulldog clips from a office supply store, pinned some steel nails in the wall, and ta-dah!

All done. I hung up some fairy lights too, they are battery operated and set the mood. I love how it came out, especially since that wall is the first thing you see when you walk into my room... Now I just need something for my back wall, and I have just the thing in mind. More on that later.

Time to Assemble the Avengers

So Last weekend my good friend Brian and I got to go to the First Ever Fan Screening of Avengers Assemble, It was pretty cool to be the first people on the planet to see it, well, apart for the people who attended the LA premiere, but stick, very cool.

As for the film, Im not one for writing big long reviews, but I will happily sum it up when I say its amazing, funny, charming, clever and action packed. Its an action film at its hard, and its delivers like Dominos!

My favourite party of the screening was when it was announced that "unfortunately that film has not been full rendered in 3D yet, so this screening will be shown in 2D" and the whole audience cheered. No one liked 3D, but worse again are films that have been rendered into 3D after the film was shot in 2D, its annoying to think that studios are happy to butcher the quality of a film, just so they can boost up the profit numbers. And seeing as the Avengers has already been the highest tracking film this year, they could have easily released it as it was intended in 2D and had a hugely successful film.

Anyways, the film is realeased in Ireland & the UK on the 26th of April. Yes. This Thursday!

Fantastic Mr. Dahl

Growing up one of my most tresured posessions was my Roald Dahl book collect, it was a set of his greatest works, and I spent my childhood reading them. Fantastic Mr. Fox being my favourite.

So to celebrate his wonderful work, the British Post Office has announced a series of stamps in his honour, complete with illustrations from the equally talented Quentin Blake.

Ombré no hombre

I know the season for tights has probably past for most ladies, but these ombré tights by BZR are so cool. They could easily be the focus point of any outfit. They are available for about €40 on BZR's etsy site.

Lana Del Radio1

Lana gets a lot of shit, mostly from Music Critics who are pissed that she reinvented her, but I for one Love her. Born To Die is one of my favourite albums that has come out this year, and her videos are always beautifully shot!

Above is a watercolour by my amazingly talent friend, Vincent Devine, and Below is her cover of Kasabian's Goodbye Kiss for the Radio One Live Lounge, and its stunning.

From Russia with Love

I Love this editorial from GQ Style Russia with photography by Vladimir Glynin. Yuri Gagarin, the first human in outer space and the first to orbit the Earth, is the inspiration for the editorial and features model Marios Lekkas. DRN

DRN's Casting Couch

Who do you imagine Finnick to be?

When I was reading the books I kinda pictured him like Jason Momoa. Maybe because I would like to see him in his underwear, who can tell.

So, who do you see playing the role of Finnick Odair?

A Beirut Beauty.

When I first saw these images in Architectural Digest, I though this amazing house has to belong to a master of Interior Design. And I was right, this is the Beirut home of designer May Daouk's. Its simply stunning. The high ceilings, and amazing windows, yet her mixture of textures and fabrics make each room look so comforting.

For more images of May's home, go to Architectural Digest.

Dude looks like a Lady.

I Love the work of Australian photographer Luke Austin. Here, his model Sam, strikes such an interesting balance between Male & Female. The poses are very feminine, as is the bleached blonde hair. Such a contrast to his dark brows, hairy chest, mustache and stubble.

You can see more of Luke's work HERE.
