Savage Beauty.
May will see the opening of the American Costume Institution's Savage Beauty exhibition, a tribute to Alexander McQueen. Here are a preview of what will certainly be an amazing exhibition...
On a side note, More4 will be showing a documentary tonight on McQueen's life, McQueen & I, at 9PM. It looks amazing.

Celebs in the nude!
Alexa, that bag is to die for right?
So once again the Burberry show was more about who was wearing what outside the tent, rather than inside on the runways. Anyways its always fun to see the cool and casual London crowd mix it up with the American uptight starlet troops. And then there's the odd male model/up and coming actor, they're always fun to look at.

Douglas Booth, token eye candy...
Ellie Goulding, somewhat lost looking, but trying her best.
Kate Bosworth, that skirt looks like agony to sit/stand in.
Rachel Bilson, I like that shes dressed appropriately for London in February

BAFTA Art...
For the 2011 BAFTAs, the Academy enlisted illustrator Adam Simpson to design a poster for each of the best picture nominees, which were then used to the cover of the program on the night, and the results turned out stunning, especially for Black Swan and The Kings Speech.

Jet Horns
So I came across Jet Horns over on the Pop Justice where the it was song of the day, and rightly so. Electro pop at its finest, and the track is free to download, so what are you waiting for?
You can read more about the band HERE

I heard that too!
These amazing Illustrations by Brookyn artist Lisa Hanawalt are so funny, I love them all. I suspect Anna probably won't, but I don't think she reads my blog at the weekend.

Back to the Future
I love this series, Back to the Future, by Irina Werning. As you can probably tell, people were invited to re-create their old photos from the past... The results are really well done, and so interesting.

Anna talks Alexander.
Two fashion icons, one touchy subject. The Telegraph's Hillary Alexander talk to Vogue's EIC Anna Wintour about Alexander McQueen's legacy, and what shows she is looking forward to seeing at London Fashion Week.

She's on the right track baby!
So its been nearly a week since Born This Way was released and I, whilst at first was extremely confused, now love the song.
I wasn't expecting a full on disco thumper, but the song came on my ipod during the week when I was walking into town, and suddenly it all made sense. You just have to imagine you're on a mission when listening to it. And let me tell you I STOMPED into town that day like a motherfucker, thinking I was about to cure the world of AIDS.
"I'm on the right track baby, I was born this way"
If they ever make another Bridget Jones movie, this is the soundtrack song.
I also think its important that people remember she's a singer, worse than that she's a pop singer. and not the second coming of Oscar Wilde. Just go with it. Its fun. and harmless.

Oh and the song is also Billboard's 1000th number one, which is a nice little title to hold.
Not so Notorious anymore!
SHE'S BAAAAACCCKKKK! And bat shit crazy as ever. Yes, above is the actually cover art for Lil' Kim's latest mixtape, Black Friday, an obviously counter to Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday.
Now you know, I love a good girl fight, but this is just sad. Mostly cause the former Notorious K.I.M was really fucking hardcore back in the day, a great female rapper, and now she just seems so desperate. Like is beheading Nicki Minaj really gonna help your career?
Anyways heres Kim being awesome back in the day, Kitty Box.

Dead Island. No, not Inis Mor
Now I am by no means a gamer, (I have a Nintendo Wii. In the back of my closet.) but this game, Dead Island, has produced a trailer that looks better and more exciting than anything in the cinema at the moment...

Missing Person
Colour Blocking.
Tall Painting from Dave Kaufman on Vimeo.
The best ideas are the simplest ones.
case in point:
Eating a scone. Good Idea.
Invading a country. Bad Idea.
Pouring paint down a block of wood. Very Good Idea.

These are Scones, not scons!
I don't know if its because I have taken up a cooking class lately, or I have been watching too much Come Dine With Me, but my new favourite thing to do is whip out the weighing scales and bake. Bake all day long.
So I was in Dunnes yesterday and to my delight (fully serious) Odlum's quick scones are like 2 for 2.50. So naturally I brought 8 packs! And I know people are like, oh quick packs aren't real baking. Well, they are simple as hell, and turn out delicious, and all you have to do is add milk. So, in my book, thats the best kind of baking.
And seriously look how good they turned out. I am quite proud, if you couldn't already tell... So in these cold and shitty Wintery months I suggest everyone pick up a wooden spoon, and bake all your problems away.
And if you have any problems left over, you can eat them away with the results of your baking. See, its Win-Win =)
